Are we making progress on solutions for homelessness in Los Angeles? | Elise Buik

//Are we making progress on solutions for homelessness in Los Angeles? | Elise Buik

On The Deciders with Renee Fraser this week is Elise Buik, President and CEO of the United Way of Greater Los Angeles.

The homeless crisis in Los Angeles is a housing crisis. Although we have seen a 12% increase in homelessness this year, there is hope. With help from Elise and her program Everyone In, there are 3,000 housing units in the construction pipeline and 21,000 homeless housed in 2018 alone. Fighting NIMBY (Not In My Backyard), this program helps to lift the hidden stories of progress, activate residents to stand up for housing in every neighborhood and keep up the political pressure for real solutions in all parts of L.A. County.
